Celebrity Houses #2

Cute houses for the Jenner. Not so much personality tho.

Agreed! It's passable but doesn't look believable. Kylie's house is more like the rich person's take on eclectic and quirky. Looking at Kris' pad, I'm glad I decided against fiddle leaf trees because they're everywhere right now.

I am however surprised at Derek Blasberg's interior. Expected it to mimic his personal style to some extent. Casual yet unfussed. The antique pieces are definitely him, and I like the lounge area (not the seating!), but that shade of blue is such an odd choice. Also, the matching drapes and sofa? My gran will approve!

I thought it was odd of Architectural Digest to highlight Kerry Washington's NYC place. It's a temporary rental and has some of the most impersonal decorating imaginable. It's not even her furniture, it's like on loan from Restoration Hardware? Where's the personality?! I'd much rather they actually featured her home, in Los Angeles.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba's place is a little bland overall, but I'm living for her range vent hood. I like that her dining room chairs and family room sofas have washable slipcovers, too. When celebrities with young kids have then really austere, pristine houses it kind of rubs me the wrong way (looking at you, Kim and Kanye).

Side Note: as an Architectural Digest subscriber, I find it funny how often they put a celebrity on the newsstand cover and feature either a totally different home or a different photo of the celebrities home (without them in it) on the subscribers cover. It happened with the Lenny Kravitz and Jessica Alba issues, and I remember it happening with the Khloe/Kourtney issue, too.

Dakota Johnson's rather stunning house in LA, formerly owned by Ryan Murphy. Apparently she only paid 3.5 million for it, which seems like an absolute steal given the location, pedigree, and size. Kendall Jenner sold a similarly sized home for nearly double that a few years ago, only a few houses down the from Dakota's house.

Yikes! I can't believe Dakota paid 3.5million for that house, such a bargain not even getting to the location but how it looks. This looks like a perfect starter home or something for a couple/bachelor. Not sure how much renovation she did, but it's stunning.
Like the walls, but not with her choice of paintings and definitely not with dark frames. And you can't swing a cat in that kitchen. Otherwise, mad about everything else especially the bathroom. The monstera leaves in the flowerpot looks a bit out of place. In general, she seems to be fond of cut flowers? Telltale sign of someone who doesn't spend a lot of time at home.

I saw Dakota's AD video a while ago and loved her house too.. I hate that location but will just imagine it exists maybe in Silver Lake (which I don't like either), other than that, everything's so lovely and you can tell she's very opinionated on what's in it, unlike most celebrities and except for the 'not getting the psychology of dishes' part.. what's not to get? you like cooking? ok, so you like eating, and you don't eat everything straight from a napkin.. mystery solved. These cups are for something with cucumber.. maybe cucumber lime sorbet, late summer. Same 'psychology' as putting an outfit together.

The carpet on the kitchen also looks like a potential nightmare but whatever works for her. It reminds me of the fully carpeted bathroom in my friend's apartment, so odd.. and gross, I can only conclude the flooring situation is really bad and helpless so a carpet was thrown on it.

Her war with her neighbor is seriously my war with my neighbor.. and she's provided the most perfect solution: a line of bamboos. I'm forever thankful lol. My only question is: are all kinds fast-growing or are hers a specific type? they look great, wish there were more shots of that.

I love Dakota's house so much. I'd live there in a second. I feel like it's nearly everything my ideal home would be, and I adore how secluded it looks.

Drake's Toronto home

....which is the epitome of more cash than class! I think it perfectly sums him up as a person, completely devoid of any form of personality or intimacy. Would has assumed it was in Dubai if I didn't read that it's actually in Toronto.

Drake’s house looks like a flagship store... It’s actually hard to believe that someone would live there. It’s maybe the ultimate « show-off » house in this thread. And I’m really trying to understand the need for a collection of Birkin bags. I get the status symbol aspect of it and while I think the HAC is a great travel bag for someone like Drake, I don’t get the Yellow crocodile bag...

He is actually more tacky than I though he was.

J Balvin’s house is maybe the ultimate aspirational house. I know I would love to spend time there!
I’m actually surprised, if not shocked that this is his house. It’s a strong statement, given his job and his public persona, to have a house like that.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I love when my prejudice is turned down because honestly I was waiting a lot of bad taste.

It's nice enough, but not very original. Pinterest is awash with these sort of interiors. But then I suppose that does make it the ultimate content that can be reprinted across this international editions.

It’s original for him! I would have never associated him with this kind of house...
Rappers seems to all have the same taste and even the ones that are seen are arbiters of taste (Pharrell, Kanye) have the most generic taste.

But the juxtaposition of J Balvin against Drake couldn’t be funnier!
