:sigh:…. Such a gorgeous era. Full of mood/tone/attitude. If a publication were alive and surging with pulsating energy, Franca’s Vogue is that publication. Koto/Steven/Bruce/Nathaniel all gave effortless killer HF storytelling. And not a single filler. Standards were really that high then. And it’s just an August issue... :weeps:...

Exactly, it's just an August issue and I didn't even post all of the editorials - there's four more that I didn't have time to edit!
Karen Elson by Richard Burbridge in 'All That Neon'; Louise Pedersen in Copenhagen by Tim Walker; famous mothers (including Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, Angela Lindvall and more) with their children shot by Testino; 'Faces' by Thomas Schenk starring Bochert, Stam and Soukupova among other fresh faces at the time; and at last, Miles Aldridge wrapping up the issue.
All this for August. Eight fantastic editorials by top-notch photographers featuring the best models of the moment with fun, colorful fashion on every page! It's spectacular. Fast forward to today's pamphlet-sized Vogues with 96 pages. Pfft, embarrassing.

I will try posting more of the issue later today.

Didn't have the patience to edit the rest of the editorials so I'll just post them unedited for now.

:weeping:

8 stories— going from strength to strength (well except for Miles'... LOL)… To have just one solid story from that Emanuel person for the Sept issue of this once titanic Vogue is as high of an expectation as I dare hope. Just one.

Except for Emmanuelle and her Vogue Paris, there is really no editor left who dares to have a point of view and a distinct personality. Everyone is so sensitive/scared of cancel-culture that their pages are dependent on the approval of the SM watchdogs. Either that, or the editors just a aren’t good enough to be consistently strong from story to story and issue to issue, and will never possess that brand of confident HF vision that Franca embodied so effortlessly and in spades.

Thanks aracic!

Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous.

Of course, the Meisel editorial is to die for, but as everyone else has mentioned, the rest is just fantastic, too.

Karen Elson looks incredible, and the Thomas Schenk editorial is perfection. I so miss that kind of editorial. The girls were so strong then.
