i normally like Carlijn, her September 2019 Vogue Netherland cover was great, but her work for VP are just disastrous.

My guess is that perhaps we will see the December/January issue as the 100th anniversary issue, allowing the team more time to assemble something worthy of an anniversary.

I love this - love the tongue-in-cheek concept with the fake background, the fake snow and the fake fan. I can admit that I'm bias toward Vogue Paris and Alt (who undoubtedly nailed every issue during the height of the pandemic), and therefore I am struggling to find anything negative here.

I don’t think they will miss the opportunity to not put some celebratory words (e.g. 100 anniversary) on the cover if this is the anniversary issue. My bet also goes to December/January.

Cannot agree with the first comment.

Attempts to be "woke" and "provocative" with covers like WE SHOULD (not) ALL BE ACTIVISTS, or 100 covers with questionable subjects except 8-10 models, or bulls*it illustrations on covers for 196th issue in a row - this is what's cheap AND also pretentious.

Using a fake snowy mountain print and a ski look during quarantine - that is indeed tongue-in-cheek. It is like Alt's is saying "suck it" to all the other editors and manages to produce high quality issues with all the restrictions. Let's be honest here - thank god for Emmanuelle Alt during these horrible, horrible times.

I love this cover! It’s cheesy, it’s fun, unpretentious...
Ski is something that is always done well in VP.
I’m a bit confused by it being a subject of à October issue and I wonder what the ed will look like because a studio shoot of what is supposed to be done outdoor can be challenging.

How many covers of VP Rianne had already? I feel like she is always in the magazine....Whether it’s a cover or not!

It’s ugly and certainly different than she always does but I’m all for it! There’s something so literal and cheesy about the concept that makes it work. Also I have the feeling that cover story is gonna be stunning.
I’d really like to see other girls on the cover of Vogue Paris tho...

Too tacky and Glenda Bailey-approved for my taste! I know it's being deliberately tacky but I guess it's just not my sense of humour. Seems she really miss not doing her annual ski edit and had to resort to this.
Even Tatler who used to specialise in this sort of cheap and campiness moved on from it.

Also, Rianne again? No thanks!
