The Secret Shopaholics Thread #6

just a reminder...
since delivery is the only real shopping option at the moment...

remember to wipe down any boxes...
*the coronavirus can stay on cardboard for up to 24 hours...*
*it can stay on plastic for up to 2 days*
and then also wipe down any surfaces the box was on...

I would also wash the garment or whatever it is...

and then get the packing stuff out of the house and safely in the trash or recyclables~!

personally- the only shopping I'm doing right now is for food, household necessities and cat stuff...

:ninja:

I've read the virus doesn't survive well on 'soft surfaces,' which I assume includes fabric. If you got notified of the ship date (normally this happens), you can calculate the survival time for anything inside the package.

You are in a hotspot (perhaps more accurately the hotspot), so your approach makes total sense. Peace of mind is important too. Normally I do not take my shoes off at the front door, but I've started doing that. (Medical workers' shoes have tested positive for the virus--obviously my shoes haven't been in a five alarm danger zone like theirs have.)

My shopping has been a little more expansive than yours, but certainly I'm not buying frivolous stuff. I've ordered a screen so I can screen off my desk, since I can no longer really leave the house to get away from my workspace. (Actually two--the first was damaged in transit so I've ordered a second while I work on returning the first.)

For the first weeks of this, spring water was frequently sold out or rationed, and it was causing me to make extra shopping trips. So I ordered a (beautiful) water filter and some additional vintage refrigerator water bottles, which I have sterilized. This means I can reduce my grocery shopping to about once every 10 days. The nice thing is I was able to get reimbursed from my wellness program for all but $10 of the cost of the OvoPuro (which is substantial). I believe I should be able to get reimbursed for the filters as well. Mine is like this but with a wood base:

My guilty pleasure is Stitch Fix Shop your looks :ninja::ninja: I'm not really doing any other shopping, but I continue to look at this because it's fun. I've ordered a few things, one of which is athleisure (useful for WFH) that I wore today. Since I was already WFH, I will admit that I don't really need anything.

My habit of doing a yearly Aveda stockup, as well as stocking up on beauty basics during Nordstrom 10 points events, has really come in handy. I had preordered some things that had to be shipped out by management after the mall closed, and I haven't needed anything since. It will be interesting to see what I run out of first ...

I've done a couple of dog treat stockups, so I should be set there for awhile. I also did a pretty big stockup on the canned fish one of my dogs eats, and my grocery store finally has chicken hearts back on the shelves (for my other dog). Those I can get on my regular grocery run. I ordered coffee last night as I'm not too happy with what I got at my grocery store.

My grocery run is the only in-person shopping I'm doing, everything else is online. Good times ...

I am obsessed with HUGO by Hugo Boss for quite some time now and already spent a good amount of money on their app  I got a promotion fairly recently and want to order some more stuff but so far I was able to resist :D
