I agree 100% with you. But I would like surprise in Female category with both Anette and Jody. I mean Bening has been nominated five times. I so badly want Winslet moment for her ❤️

Oppenheimer will sweep except for Best Supporting Actress.

I'd like Paul Giamatti to be recognised, but I'm not expecting this year's Oscars to be anything other than Oppenheimer. I'll just stay up long enough to see the dresses.

I thought this was a thread to predict which designer the actresses are gonna wear tonight lol.

Anyway I know it's not gonna happen but I would love to see Sandra Hüller winning best actress.

i was hoping for an anatomy of a fall and the holdovers takeover but oppenheimer and poor things will sweep

Messi, the dog in anatomy of a fall deserved a best supporting actor nom, he outacted everyone from RDJ to mark ruffalo

I really really want May December to win an award but in that category idk if it will stand up to the rest.

Also watched Anatomy of a Fall last night and Sandra tore so hard… I need her or the movie to win something.

But I just know Oppenheimer is gonna win everything. Which to be fair Cillian and the score and cinematography and etc etc was great but like … I hate sweeps. Sometimes it should just be implied.

Would love to see Sandra Huller winning best actress but Lily might get it. Emma Stone was amazing too.

It wouldn't be my choice for a single category (actually, out of the current nominees, it would probably be my pick for Supporting Actor, but that's it) but I do think it was a well-made movie and a massive success, so I won't be too disappointed when the inevitable sweep occurs.

Honestly I think I am the only person still not dazzled by Stone in Poor Things (or in anything and yes I've seen most of her work just to prove myself wrong). She's not a bad actress. She's just, to me, not great. She does the job and I don't feel let down but I don't leave wanting more of her like I do Emily Blunt or Kate Winslet or Penelope Cruz, or so many others. I think all her characters are just a different version of quirky, and this was just another, more developed and a bit more nuanced, version of quirky. Her and Ruffalo's British accents are bad, Ruffalo's is horrendous though. I liked maybe the last 30 mins of the film. I did quite enjoy the costume and production design, they were exquisite! Their Oscar for those two categories were very much deserved. To me this was a movie trying to make a grand, bold statement without it being actually reflective or innovative in how it makes that statement. It's definitely a feminist critique made by a man or a woman trying to be "edgy".

I'm glad Lily Gladstone did not get it because I did not think that was a great performance, but I blame the way her character was written. She performed being sick and bed-ridden well.

Best Actress really should have been Sandra's, though I say that not having seen Nyad or Maestro, though Mulligan is also generally just an okay actress.
