Adidas - The All-Things 'Adidas Sneakers/Trainers' Thread

"thanks for hating!".. haha, I'm sorry! I have admittedly been fishing for some stan smith room for stress relief.

Mods ... There's indeed no thread for Stand Smith, but damn you need to come with some ideas in this thread. It is a bit messy... I'm sorry to say this like that ,,,

These are ADIDAS threads (I didn't add the Y3) ...

http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-superstars-29985.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-21706.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-monza-714.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-shoes-ones-614.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-lake-placid-80-a-1168.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-adi-color-competition-pictures-43990.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-superstar-35th-run-dmc-spotting-fakes-37681.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-x-jeremy-scott-239829.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/raf-simons-collaborates-adidas-203365.html

Even though I don't think ONE thread would be a good solution... There should be something you should do, non ? Like one thread for Adidas in general and its special edition, one for Jeremy Scott edition, Y3 sneakers etc.

Please elaborate, I'm interested in how you'd organize it.

I see some of the threads you link had only a few posts, in some cases broken links so you can't even see the shoes being discussed. Should those threads be dumped, since they are pretty useless? Or kept for posterity's sake, so that if someone is looking for them later, they will at least see the record and can update them if they desire?

Sneaker brands tend to have a lot of lines, some of them short-lived, and many limited releases. Having them all in one mega-thread could make individual posts harder to find. How would you decide which ones should have their own threads?

I am interested in your ideas, I'd like to hear more about how you think it could be done.

ahah. i should shut up before posting sometimes...

well first of all as you said there are threads that are composed with 3 posts, no pictures. this is not very educational.
second of all, i do understand the "special editions" "collaborations" etc. make it more difficult.
But there are also 2 threads with what appears as "general" titles' threads (adidas and adidas shoes) ...
i would use one of this thread to post EVERYTHING GENERAL related to Adidas (from classics to non-this-classic-but-still-regular-easy-to-find Adidas shoes, like the Monza, Lake Placid etc.). So you have a general thread, with a timeline of what could be read as a "trend" (let's be honest sneakers is really related to trends, and exclusivities and relaunch... so the timeline is important, imo).
where you could talk about Stan Smith, but also competitions (Adidas adi color competition), and the relaunch of run dmc editions, or what adidas to choose ... and so on.
So in this thread, you could bring together 7 other threads:
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-superstars-29985.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-lake-placid-80-a-1168.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-shoes-ones-614.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-monza-714.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-shoes-ones-614.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-adi-color-competition-pictures-43990.html
http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f120/adidas-superstar-35th-run-dmc-spotting-fakes-37681.html

and then you can leave the "special editions/collaborations with designer" such as they are now.
jeremy scott and raf simons and Y3 (it is very different) SLVR etc.

Thanks for clarifying. I looked at the threads you linked. I ditched some of the more empty and useless ones. I merged the two Superstars threads. I let Superstars and Monza continue to have their own threads because I think it can become confusing when there are nonspecific comments (not naming the subject) in a general thread; the reader doesn't know which pair of shoes the comment relates to.

We appreciate your suggestions in keeping the forums organized! :flower:

i like the match plays as well and didn't know about them...
i actually wouldn't mind a thread for them now...

...

i think they will be great BR...esp with those pants...but why not get some Y-3?
as much as i always liked the stan smiths, i really cannot deal with the green bit...
:ninja:...

what i like is the match play in some of the other colours and materials...
i like the grey especially...

but that is because i already have white sneakers that i like very much...
Y-3's that have a similar profile to the stan smith but are ALL white and woven leather...

tang- thanks for taking care of business...

Oh god how I loathe them and want to set them on fire next to the ever so tacky New Balances (at least they're going away on their own now- naturally, as every fashion victim item will) and add most Nikes to the flames too, especially if they're black and white.

I loved them for a while but their comeback has been a bit of a nightmare and seriously why not get some matchplays instead while at it? they're just a simple but less annoying.. :zorro:

true- but they always move on to the "next big thing" eventually...
:P

I like the general look of the Raf Stan Smiths (no green thingie!), but I don't like the profile of Stan Smiths so I've never had any, and will pass on these, as well.

The Google custom search box at the bottom of the forum page is usually best for this kind of search. "Y-3 Show" returned some results for me. :flower:
