After homing in on the blue-hued Moroccan city of Chefchaouen for his last resort effort, and then working his most recent fall collection in a predominantly gray palette, Akris designer Albert Kriemler felt ready to embrace multiple colors this season. “Two years ago, I discovered this tulip field in Holland, a wonderful combination of natural colors,” he said.

Those famous fields in the Netherlands — with their striking rows of red, yellow, green, blue, pink and purple bulbs — served as Kriemler’s starting point, which he digitally printed onto minidresses and coats. Vibrant cashmere knits grounded the collection’s daywear and oversize tulip shapes popped up in embroidery on sheer jackets and tops. Elsewhere, a gray linen suit, light as a feather, oozed polish. Kriemler’s standout jacket this season — one of the brand’s greatest strengths — came in the form of a reversible mink and leather bomber. “The concept of having one layer of fabric on your body makes it essentially more modern,” Kriemler said.
