Duane Michals - Photographer

Duane Michals is another great photography. He usually does photo sequences, and writes stories that accompany his photographs. I adore his style, it's very unique. He is a poet, a philosopher, and a photographer. And he combines the three perfectly. he has contributed a lot to fashion magazines.

i really like the "stories" you posted above, nouvelle vague.
i don't think i ever saw an editorial by him? to what magazines does he supply?

now that i've done a search his work seems familiar but i still don't think i've ever seen a fashion spread...

He used to contribute to Vogue and Mademoiselle. He photographed for Yves Saint Laurent. Currently, one might catch his photographs in an obscure/bi-annual fashion magazine such as Rebel. I'll look and post some of his photos published in vogue during the 60s.

His noncomercial photography gets him more noticed, since he puts more of himself into them. But the commercial photography he did/does supports him financially.
