Its nice that its an inclusive cover but the way they captured it makes it look like some kindergarten kid's attempt to recreate a Chanel fragrance ad. They tried to please everyone and ended up with a mess instead of doing single shots or sticking to about 3 of the subjects and a better concept.
And athletes are athletes, they're not models or celebrities, I don't expect them to have a lifetime's professional experience of posing for the camera, or to how to compensate and make bad elements of a shoot look better.
Any story needs to play to their strengths, of which there will be many.
