How much does a top brand pay for its fashion designer?

How much does a top brand pay for its fashion designer? Like the creator in chief and those kept/hidden designers? My friend asks me about this, he wanna head off to Saint Martins to study Fashion, in design or buying.

Seems being a buyer is better option?

It depends, really. From low 5-figure sums (in € for the 'hidden designers' at small houses) to disgustingly huge sums for the likes of Phoebe Philo or Karl Lagerfeld. And everything in between.

But dont expect to become rich as a designer.
