Yes, the names of these fashion reality TV shoes just keep getting better and better, no? Stylist is the new fashion reality show on tap for MTV, with no set premiere date or even order number yet. The show is different from most MTV reality shows in that there’s a competition involved and stylists will already be established. The catch is they’re vying for a contract with a major agency, which is the pinnacle of working as a freelance stylist. Working with an agency pretty much guarantees you work versus marketing yourself and working 24/7 to keep clients happy in order to make sure you’re booked again. I’m sure for Stylist we’ll see appearances by Lauren Conrad of The Hills and Whitney Port of The City, along with fashion PR powerhouse Kelly Cutrone, who is regularly seen on both Conrad and Port’s shows. I think MTV’s series might prove to be a little more interesting than the CW’s Stylista, which was more campy than high fashion.
