No more blondes! Japanese brand uses local actresses/models to sell shampoo

TOKYO (AP) -- Shampoo advertising in Japan typically featured glamorous blondes praising imports from Procter & Gamble and Unilever.
But ads for Tsubaki, the latest hit from local cosmetics maker Shiseido Co., feature famous Japanese women and an unusually direct slogan: "Japanese women are beautiful."

About time. Japanese(and asian, for that matter) women are phenomenally beautiful. I could never comprehend that reputed inferiority complex they had, comparing themselves to western women etc.

Yes, though I hope that this new "we are beautiful" mentality spreads to other races as well.
It's def time to get over this whole "beauty and race" war that has been going on forever. It always seemed that by having a white person on the box makes people feel like by using their product, you too, could be beautiful. As if beauty only applies to one hair color, skin color, culture, etc.

It's about damn time.
