Bing Crosby and Bob Hope (whenmoviesweremovies.com)

I loved Bob Hope before I found out how conservative he was.

Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis (whenmoviesweremovies.com)

You're Never Too Young was my first Martin & Lewis movie.

Oh, Marlene.

I didn't like her much when I was younger but I'm starting to understand her better, the more films of hers I see. Der Blaue Engel was my first, I saw it when I was maybe 6 or 7

Oh, thank you so much for putting her, I :heart::heart: His Girl Friday, even more since it fits in perfectly with this olden days Hollywood thread.

oh, me too.

i think janet gaynor hasn't been posted yet? i adored her in murnau's sunrise - a song of two humans. she was the first actress to get an academy award for her performance i think.

mmh, marlon brando looked so good when he was young, strange thing that he and paul newman aged so differently, newman became more attractive when he was getting older.

i just can't think of modern day equivalents....you're right (some up way up said it) they just don't make em like they used to!

audrey hepburn
vivien leigh
m. deitrich

....i feel really overwhelmed...all these pretty people...:P

For anyone who likes Orson Welles or Rita Hayworth, you should see "The Lady From Shanghai". They are both in it (She looks unbelievable!), great movie.

I love: Anna May Wong, Audrey Hepburn (Who doesn't? This is my favorite picture of her), Bette Davis, and Marlene Dietrich (My favorite photo of her). There's many more old Hollywood Stars I love, but I don't have any more photos on my work computer.
I agree that there aren't really any modern day equivalents, but Cate Blanchett did come to mind, for me.
