Racism in the Fashion Industry

So there were other employees of colour in the store who ended up noticing who she was. Dsamg's got a valid point. It clearly could not have been about race otherwise it would make for an exceedingly messed-up situation. My guess is it was class or perhaps even weight related instead.
 
^ I'm not clear as to how that quote proves it's not about race?? To me, it confirms that it likely is.

And wrt weight, perhaps the clueless SAs of the world haven't caught on to this, but I certainly have ... if a woman shops for clothes in the plus-size department, and is interested in nice things, that makes her more likely to spend big on one-size-fits-all accessories like bags and shades, not less.
 
Well sadly and in most places /countries I've been too. Aside from "first impression" and looks, skin color is still being used as your gauge in society.
