RIP Paco Rabanne - 1934-2023

I loved his bold piecing and silhouettes, so cool and FUN
Much love to his close ones

R.I.P.

Paco, Mugler and Cardin were in a class of their own. All chanced on hyper modernism, forward thinking, and really abstract silhouettes at a time when fashion was very groupthink. These three aren't celebrated enough imo.

I expect to see some good tributes and archival visuals. Elle France or Spain will likely give him a cover too.

Paco Rabanne is of course a pioneer in fashion, a disruptor like Courreges and Cardin. The first one to put black models on the runway, the images of Françoise Hardy looking terribly cool in her clothes, the one who discovered Christophe Decarnin. Those are things that comes to my mind when i think about him in terms of fashion.

In terms of pop culture for anybody who was grown enough in the 90’s in France, Paco Rabanne was also talking a lot about Astrology, reading cards…He became this figure that would shout statements on France 2.

Im glad that he saw the renaissance of his brand in terms of fashion relevancy. May he RIP.
