well...i'm kind of glad though that all those kids who have no idea what punk is won't be dressing like little wannabe punks anymore...it really is annoyiong when someone wears a tshirt with a band on it that they don't even know...kind of ********...

but i don't think anyone who isn't an all-american or english-looking (very white and usually blonde) looks very good in that prep look...

i know i don't...and i'm southern italian...it just looks like i'm wearing someone else's clothes...and i really don't like little animals embroidered on my clothes...

God, I know what you mean, I got into an argument over music with a little "punk" kid at school one day(they were totally dissing my musical tastes). Anyway, I asked them if they knew who John Lydon was and they had no friggin clue.

here they are - hope you can see them - they're nothing spectacular - just photos of random people...

For some reason the boy strikes me as gay. I don't know why.

How are platform flip-flops preppy?

LOL - I don't think those students epitomise CLASSIC prep, but more along the lines of nouveau prep - wearing preppy items with err...less than preppy items. Classic prep is more of what I'd identify with the prep outfit in the image where they compare goth vs. prep.

i see it.

p.s. i don't think there are any drastic changes as in gothic to preppy. maybe less harsh or whatever. and it's slow.

i know i went from 'preppy' to preepy with arty tshirt to 'indie emo wanna be' to indie to aloof and now i wear whatever i want....so to individual.

in high school what you wear seems like it's wayyy too pressured by what music you listen to. it's ridiculous.

Those flip-flops...I don't know who makes them, but that's what tons of people wear at my (uber-preppy) school.

Because he is carrying a purse

I like the both Punk and Preppy, all the trends are great, but if the "student chic" begins it's a good thing.

Less Pornochic more Nostalchic this winter

It looks like the Barneys shopping bag since they have these long carrying straps.

It's his hand, and the overall aspect of the face, etc.

Everyone, but probably either JCrew or Old Navy - those are really the "popular" flip-flop makers that do those platform flip flops - I have a penchant for both of their high wedge flip flops myself (JCrew did them last year, but didn't make them this year, and somehow Old Navy picked them up) - I love them - I need something with a bit of a wedge.

I've been trying to dress dramatic, but how "theatrical" can a 19yr-old straight boy be...
