I received the May 2024 issue of World of Interiors - as mentioned above, it contains the last editor's letter by Hamish Bowles. Also, next month's issue will be the 500th issue.

I don't know if becoming editor of WoI was the ambition of a lifetime for Hamish Bowles, but it must be frustrating to be struck down by ill health just when he was a year or so into the job.

Agree, he was a wonderful steward of the magazine -- I think many were skeptical about it, worried he would fill it with celebs, a la Vogue. But he really kept the spirit of it. Having a stroke is one of the worst health disasters anyone could experience, so I completely understand his need to step back, and wish him all the best.
