…So that’s where the infamous Meisel portrait is from-- and shot by Herb, to boot! Herb remained untouchable when it came to his B&W portraits; he really was a painter at heart. The one of Neneh is also golden. Wished all these portraits had their single layout instead of thumbnails.

The Meisel portrait is by Annie Leibovitz. This Gap ad is a celebration of previous campaigns photographed by Leibovitz and Ritts. And I agree, they're all magnificent portraits!
