^ southern Japan always looks dreamy! one thing led to another while looking this up on google maps and now I want to go to Ida Beach. 🏝️

^^^ But what swimwear will you wear…? Skims???

The first pic posted is all that’s needed: Just the right tone and mood, the right composition, the rich textures of nature and industry; and the right attitude. No annoying celeb/Super needed; no obnoxious logo/monogram and bag shoved in your face; no OTT modelling; and no famous landmark required. Just masterful beauty in B&W. Almost wished that even Yohji’s logo was absent. Almost.

^ did you google 'Ida Beach Japan'? I don't know the rules there but I feel like swimwear can be unnecessarily formal and downright offensive in such pristine and remote landscapes.

I did get very curious on Skims some months ago, and made it to Nordstrom because I was sure it would be one of those brands that are hilariously tacky but also total guilty pleasure because they do live up to the hype and.... it was not. It looked as cheap as it felt.. flimsy and plastic-y, almost like weird hybrid of some knockoff of Uniqlo underwear but with American Appareal circa 2007 in mind.

^^^ Alright— so no western swimwear at Ida Beach (although i’d think that any swimwear would be modest for you since you’d likely swim topless LOL) …I didn’t really think the actual Skims garments would live up to the hype. It’s Kim K after all… but the red swimsuit does look decent. For Ida Beach, maybe more appropriately something along the lines of the undergarment that resemble origami, like what the Shogun wore while learning to dive??? (Supreme show of course, but ti was always the costumes that got my mouth watering: The shot of the Madame of the teahouse walking in the mud barefoot wearing her golden kimono was a swoonworthy moment, one of so many of the show. A friend’s husband was gifted a crimson kimono by his Japanese client, and he wore like some Hugh Hefner smoking jacket at the Playboy mansion… :weeps:...)

If this campaigns makes it to some publications, as a double-page spread, it’ll outshine every editorial already. No brand even bothers to create this sort of pure vision anymore.
