Sofia Coppola

^Not sure if I'm a fan of the new bags. I will forever covet the original, though.

I don't like the new bag either; the pink is off-putting. The Vogue Australia pictures on the other hand...

^ agreed. I can't with the pink. I think if it was any other color I would be all on board but I just hate pink.

The pink makes the bag look cheap. I'm disappointed. I like pink.

Her pics in Vogue are gorgeous

that pink (actually it's almost purple, right?) is indeed a very strange choice coming from Sofia... i know she's not afraid of colour, and she often does it very well, but this doesn't really strike me as good use of colour. :innocent:

it looks decent in the picture with her on the couch... perhaps because everything else is so muted and stripped down... but the others look a little, dare i say, tacky. Oy! maybe she spent too much time with Paris Hilton while shooting her latest film? frankly that's what it reminds me of.... one of those Jessica Simpson/Paris Hilton/et al designs...

i can't believe i just said that about my beloved Sofia. i'm ashamed... :P

Love the editorial!

And yeah, not sure about the pink thread on the latest bags; I'd go for the original bag any day over that!

Maybe Marc put her up to it? :innocent::lol:

I love that the bag is charcoal and then you have the pink lining as an element of surprise . I personally think its done in a very subtle manner , much like Sofia herself

Considering how she uses colour and fashion in her films, I don't see the pink trim as surprising or unexpected. However, I do think it was meant to come across as classier than it looks. Instead of being hip and minimalist, with a pinch of pizazz, it instead looks tacky. But I can't quite pinpoint what about the design makes the pink trim look bad, when it shouldn't.

^Completely agree with you wild roses about the purse design. One thought I've had as to why it might feel a tad "off" is the shade of pink that was used, maybe a slightly lighter pink would have popped in a way that doesn't seem as harsh. Will forever covet the original bags that Sofia designed though.

Perhaps, the pink is less harsh in real life? Since, I think the original bags became more of sucesss than the company imagined they are experimenting with colors. I prefer the classic navy, but this bag is ok depending on the light.

I don't know about the pink lines on the bags, while they still look gorgeous, they kinda cheapen the product and make it look less exclusive.

Speaking of her bags , I'm thinking of getting one as a daily bag but not sure which size to go for . Help??

^ I would go with whatever size Kristen Dunst has. It looks practical, sits nicely on the arm and doesn't look like it would way down too much on your shoulder.

I'm new to this so I don't know why I can't post two pictures at once lol! I think Kristen's bag is more elegant but I've seen more people carry the bigger version of it, I wonder why...

I'm 5'7 so I don't want to look like a gaint with the bag - I wish Sofia could come up with a middle alternative :cry::(

^I would also think about how much stuff you typically carry in your purses. Like personally, I would get the smaller size because I carry a few things but not so much that it would be necessary for the larger size. Plus, the smaller one is so cute. Sofia sure knows how to design a classic, doesn't she?
