I think so. He always seemed very very passionate about being a designer, both in personal interviews and what he showed on the runway, and that’s not something I see in every designer.

He may not be crazy about all the hullabaloo of the industry (rightfully so), but a talent like his can’t be held down.

I have faith we’ll see him soon...fingers crossed!

He has this partnership with Richemont. It’s still vague but he was still talking about it on interviews during the first lockdown. I think it’s something that might come to life either in mid to late 2021 or even 2022.

Yes, it will be under his own name. The brand it is going to be named "AZ Fashion" or something along the lines of that. A, the first letter in his first name, and Z for the last letter in his last name, he mentioned it in an interview. I just wish it could come sooner, I miss him very much.

How predictable can you ever be to involve the Klan K in this new, presumably tacky project?

I don't know, I wish Puglisi the best but Cavalli for me is a dead horse, that no amount of flogging can ever revive. If even Peter Dundas failed, I do not see reasons for FP to make a difference.

Cavalli desperately needs an injection of life. It's the quintessential Italian brand that is unapologetically tacky and over the top. It's too iconic to just fade away. I would love to see it become relevant again. If it takes a little help from the Kardashians to make that happen, then I say go for it! If they give him enough creative freedom it could work.

I mean, even if the fact that the VP team at the time wore Cavalli and helped it to be taken seriously as a HF statement, let’s not act like Cavalli wasn’t originally successful with the Kardashian of it era. The Kardashian today are just the updated version of the clientele of Cavalli that was all about St Tropez, Côte d’Azur, Marbella and Ibiza. Today, that clientele is Calabasas, Dubai and Marrakech.

There was always two side of The Jet Set. Cavalli was the other side to Valentino.

I’m more worried about the stylist he will bring to Cavalli. He needs Cortina.

No doubt about that, but the problem is exactly that once that moment passed, so did Cavalli (who, let's not forget, took enormous advantage from Versace's death and the troubled time his brand went through successively). Maybe that kind of jet set today is more enticed by the likes of Dundas, Balmain...or went straight back to Versace.

But Cavalli beautifully did the transition in the late 00’s by being more romantic, more Hollywood.
The problem was for them to really have a vision for the house Post-Roberto and Eva. Just Cavalli needed to disappear and I think they needed to comeback to the origins of Cavalli: leather and denim. Michele’s work for Gucci wasn’t that far from the origins of Cavalli.

Maybe you are right and Cavalli will be just another name on the list but the brand has a big potential. The fashion needs to follow their ambitions.
