film The Break-Up on Friday (the romantic

Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn are in high
spirits at a press event for their movie X Men:
The Last Stand at the Cannes Film Festival on
Monday. Their movie opens stateside on May 26.

Beyonce makes a grand entrance at the
Cannes Film Festival on Friday, where a
20-minute preview of her musical Dreamgirls
was shown. Americans will have to wait until
Christmas to see the former Destiny's Child

Jennifer Aniston gets up close and personal
with fans Monday at the Los Angeles premiere
of The Break-Up. But the actress was more
reserved when it came to boyfriend and costar
Vince Vaughn – the private couple kept their

Paula Abdul enlists the help of a fuzzy friend
to help sell her new jewelry collection Monday
on QVC in Hollywood. This may be the American Idol
judge's busiest week yet – her show's next

The outspoken Dixie Chicks – Natalie Maines,

at the Late Show with David Letterman in New York
on Monday to perform a song from their new album,

Avril Lavigne shows her stripes at the Cannes
Film Festival premiere of her movie Over the Hedge.
The singer (who admits she's "afraid I'm going to
fall" when she wears heels) makes her acting debut

Tuesday at the 41st Annual Academy of Country
Music Awards in Las Vegas. As for tonight's Idol finale,
Clarkson places odds on Taylor Hicks to be the
fifth person to share the show's crown.



Jason Schwartzman and Kirsten Dunst (in Chloé)
put their heads together Tuesday to promote their
movie Marie Antoinette at the Cannes Film Festival.
Dunst has the title role in Sofia Coppola's tale of
France's tragic queen, while Schwartzman (the
director's cousin) plays her husband, King Louis XVI.

Impending motherhood hasn't cramped Maggie
Gyllenhaal's style: The actress (right), who's
expecting a child with fiancé Peter Sarsgaard,
makes the scene with Eva Mendes at the

EAST MEETS WEST
Aussie actress Cate Blanchett dons a hip
kimono-style gown at the Cannes premiere of
her film Babel on Tuesday. The Oscar winner
plays Brad Pitt's wife in the ensemble drama.

Mary-Kate and Ashley prove two Olsens are
better than one at Vanity Fair's Free Arts NYC
benefit auction on Tuesday, which raised money
for arts programs for at-risk children.



CANNES DO
Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal make the
scene at a Cannes Film Festival screening of their
ensemble drama Babel on Tuesday. Their costar,
Brad Pitt, had a good reason for not being there:
the "imminent arrival" of his baby with Angelina Jolie,
he wrote in an email read aloud at a press conference.



GIRLS' CLUB
Mariah Carey bonds with Jamillah Jackson (left)
and Briana Floyd at the Boys and Girls Club of
Newark's 18th Annual Evening of the Stars at Cipriani
Wall Street in New York City on Monday. Queen Latifah,
