European Fashion Schools

ITALIA Fashion Schools

I think it's so not cool Italy doesnt have good fashion schools such as CM o Parson despite being a fashion capital. We have so many talented fashion designers..
So I was wondering where these relatively "young" italian designers have studied. and if any of you guys attend or have attended a fashion school in Italy?

The only one I know is Istituto Marangoni (www.istitutomarangoni.com) because Dolce of d&g, Moschino and Alessandro De Benedetti went there.

polimoda in florence....it's the new home to former antwerp director linda loppa. you should check last years course shows....first year under her direction and frankly heading into the right path. i think she's going to breath a new life into italian fashion very soon.

ESMOD - Munich

I am wondering if anyone here goes to ESMOD in Munich. If so, how is the school like?

Uptodate Fashion Academy - Milan

First of all, Hallo Everybody !
This is my first post and i am very happy to be here.

Has anyone attended the Uptodate Fashion Academy in Milan, Italy ? http://www.fashionuptodate.com/
Or if you know someone else who goes/has gone there ?

I am interested in their IMAGE CONSULTING & PERSONAL SHOPPER - Specialist Program.
Judging after their brochure with the course information this is exactly what I would need plus the certification I want.
On the other hand is quite expensive and I find the study period rather short.

If anyone has any info's regarding this school or any other school providing this specific training please share.
I am indeed just another newbee.

Thank you so much.

Oh yeah, I heard about that from an old professor of mine. Let's see how she does this...

Hi,
my friends studies fashion management in MOd'art. turns out that the program is 3 years in paris and the 4th year in london.but the 4th year is an optional.you can have your MBA degree if you take the 4th year, which is you'll have to pay 15.000 euros more.and you only get a certificate for 3 years of study :(
Istituto Marangoni is a good school for fashion bussiness, but its more expensive.
good luck!!

Hi! I've found this post about European fashion schools and I would like to make a question here. I have been trying to find a post about Spanish schools but I didn't find it.

Well, I'm from Spain and I would like become a designer, so I think it's right to start fashion studies... Although I really think fashion can't be tought but sadly it's just necessary to have a title..

I think fashion in Spain is not quite good, (at all) but I think I would have to stay here, so I'm looking for some schools. I have found one in Barcelona and another one in Madrid. I would like you to tell me which of them is better because I don't know the level they have (althoug I suppose it wouldn't be too high and will not be too different).

Besides I don't know if it's a good choice to study here fashion, may be it would be a waste of time and money...
What do you think?Looking forward to hearing from you

And do you know some public school in Paris?

i was looking for information of fashion schools in the area of BCN, more specifically schools which give fashion marketing courses..i only now about the IED but have no references at all...

any kind of help will be usefull

Hey guys, I'm about to graduate from Parsons this summer and I need some advice. I want to continue my studies (BA) in Europe and I'm conflicted about which school I'd like to go to.

These are my considerations:

CSM (my initial choice)
ESMOD
Studio Bercot
The Royal Academy in Antwerp.

Since the design school thread is closed, can anyone give me opinions about the school listed above? Current students are always welcomed!!!

esmod is sh**t
studio bercot is sh**t nowadays
they both have bad rep, honestly

you're from parsons, I don't know how good you are, but I heard from a friend who teaches there, that Parsons is very commercial and a very marketing-focussed (??) school

Royal Academy is for people who can draw (really) well, and you have are required to have the highest possible education before allowed in.
CSM isn't so strict, but hundreds get in there, and it's known to be a party-school

what i don't understand is, why would u do another BA, if you just finished one? why not go all the way and do MA womenswear in CSM (in my opinion, one of the best in the world) Or do Royal College in London, Or start in 3rd year in Antwerp (MA, Antwerp has 2 yrs BA, and 2 yrs MA)
Or do MA in Paris, Institut Francais de la Mode (IFM)

good luck anyway!

how come you didn't ad la chambre syndicale on your Paris list? it's rather good. (I'm applying there).

It is very good. But very oldfashioned. And it's good if you wanna work in an atelier, not in a studio.

I flew to Milan from U.S. to check out this school. It's located right in the fashion center of Milan and by the beautiful Duomo. The school is actually very small but highly legitimate and professional. They were extremely helpful with me with any questions or problems I had. I dealt with Cristina & Federica both in Admission. The school is nice and they're are many international students. The only downfall about the school is that they do not provide housing BUT they were helpful with connecting me with realtors that worked with the school for student housing. This ultimately was the reason why i couldn't attend because and they're wasn't enough students registering for the class for it o proceed.

does anyone know of a good fashion school in Florence to take short courses?

Welcome to the Fashion Spot, Lacrimas! :flower:

I just merged your thread into the ongoing thread about Euro fashion schools ... where this type of inquiry would be appropriate. Hopefully someone knows about these two schools.
