Harper's Bazaar France May 2024 : Naomi Campbell by Karim Sadli

I actually think no photographers today (except Meisel) has the nerve to tell Naomi what to do on the shoot so they just let her stand there, take a few snaps and call it a day - that's why we got results like these. I remember this shoot of her with Marcus Klinko & Indrani, it was kinda funny

^^^ She’s always been the mean girl. Now that the times are enabling her tyrannical superiority complex to reign free— and I suppose that she’s strategically latched on to the current time’s pro-Black activism trend that nobody dares criticize as a pure grift, her mean girl complex has been running amok. She’s ruthlessly positioned herself as not only the sole Black model that matters— but the only Super that matters. And people bought it hook, line, and sinker (except Tyra who's always known). If only she checked her ego just a tad, she’s actually grown into an impressive insider with so much insight in the industry. But once a mean girl, always the meanest girl.

Her story is the most decent she’s looked in a long long long time here. Still heavily retouched— just skilfully done. Karim’s far superior story is the “Studio Sport & Mode avec Mica” where the styling and compositions outshine and outperform the coverstory, even with the same sports concept. One can easily see who the far far far superior model is of the two shoots.

Will post the stories later unless Zorka’s schedule allows her to post sooner.

This was the cover shot they should've used. Clean, classic. The cover they used is revealing of beauty maintainance. An icon, for sure, but it's losing it's luster- the covers no longer feel special; they get lost in the fashion fodder of everyday accessibility. A superstar of Naomi's caliber should be sitting back in retirement, and being much more selective with her covers and appearances, she's not doing that. Again, an undoubted icon of icons- but that status has been cemented without these meaningless covers.

NC looks both oddly fresher and more natural than she has in years, but also like she's had quite a bit of work done around her eyes and mouth. Maybe it's too much retouching. Her body also looks thinner and more aerodynamic, at least on the cover.
