A Weibo blogger said that Liu Wen would rule SS24 campaign season (by her standards), and that was early/mid January. Indeed. Another great list.

Appears the Lanzarote’s trip is BV by Thornfeldt duo.


Did she really land in LA or was she taking off. Who is based there, or which creatives are in the vicinity as Liu. Sounds major?

Looks like the Thornfeldt’s crew are/were in LA the same time as Liu. Could be coincidence/unrelated.

That’s pretty cool that she booked Pop again.

However, and I may be in the minority or that only care about these frivolous things, but wish they’d focus on publication titles she has yet to cover: V, Love, Muse, CR, Numero, Bazaar France/Italia, 10 Mag, AnOther, HTSI, D la Rep, M Magazine, Perfect, Interview… even though some may be hard to get or unnecessary at this stage of her career.

Personally can’t believe she doesn’t have a solo cover of i-D, a decade has passed, and so many moments where she perfectly “audition” for another cover (all the images and gifs of her winking were not meaningless, if one hasn’t caught that, Liu wants her solo *half kidding half serious). I mean hopefully/hypothetically Society can nudge Karlie and that could prompt a future cover, since they go way back, a concept around 00s model would be interesting. May they keep the signature wink/eye covered.

Forget to add Self Service, Dazed, Porter, SSAW, Document, Holiday, Purple, Russh, Flair, Intermission, and more highly unlikely titles (Mastermind, Gentlewoman, Dust, Almanac).

After such a strong comeback with French Vogue, W, Pop, addition to US Bazaar and WSJ just think it’s nice to keep expanding and in her case, with limited opportunities appearing once seems like it’s enough, so while am surprised and happy she got Pop again, she/they could’ve gone for something else. Repeats are great but with these unreachable/smaller titles, spread the seeds and love so to speak. Think the only other time she repeated a few times was Antidote Magazine.

Obviously not an insider as to how these bookings are managed or what’s available to her (hence of course, if that’s the case and they want to book her, and her schedule is free – why not, so understandably think that’s how we got Pop again?... well hope other creatives in these aforementioned magazines reach out to Liu). Gosh it’s not that big of a deal, though when it comes to her career holistically and resume, it matters to a degree and has always been like a benchmark on magazines/campaigns/shows.

Regarding i-D: Scheinman (still?) was their head of casting and McKimm at the helm, and they worked with Liu on multiple occasions, and nothing… so there goes that ship.

Think it’s always a good idea to take her IP with a grain of salt. During that time she was celebrating her birthday, and it seems she was with people that were located in China too? There were a couple of times last year when her post would say a city/country but it turns out she’s actually not there, she would be in a different continent or country.

1/25 says France then 1/28 says Beijing but she arrived back in China days earlier (22-24), so that disprove the France geolocation and she was coming back from Lanzarote/Paris/Madrid too.

I could be wrong but there probably wasn’t a (second) Paris trip between that time frame and dates that is known. :flower:
