Ella Yelich-O'Connor (born 7 November 1996), better known by her stage name Lorde, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter from Auckland. Signed to Universal Music, her debut EP "The Love Club" was released digitally for free in 2012, and later marketed for sale; subsequently topping the NZ Top 40 Albums chart. In August 2013, Lorde became the first woman since 1996 to top the US Billboard Alternative Songs chart with "Royals". Lorde's debut album "Pure Heroine" was released 27 September 2013.
