Preen offers up a second helping

Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton, the dynamic duo behind Preen, are about to offer up a second dose of Preen-loving goodness. They've announced they'll be debuting their younger, spin-off label, Preen Line, at the autumn/winter '08-'09 Copenhagen Fashion Week on February 8.
This is in addition to their main line show which will return to New York Fashion Week, five days earlier on February 3.

Preen Returns To New York & Debuts at Copenhagen for Fall 2008

LOS ANGELES, Jan 24, 2008 / FW/ — British design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the brains behind the label PREEN, will unveil their Fall 2008 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on February 3 at 2:00 PM.
Five days later, on February 8, the design duo is off to Copenhagen, where they will unveil the Fall 2008 collection for Preen Line, their secondary label.

“Both collections allow us to show the two different sides of the label,” the designers said. “It’s always been a dream to have catwalks for both lines and this will only allow us to grow our business. Eventually, though, we’d like to show Preen Line back in London.”

Known for their use of antique fabric (battered leather, lace, tulle, glazed cotton, mixed with vintage trims - old jewellery, buttons, etc.), Preen debuted at London Fashion Week on-calendar schedule during the Spring 2001 season and continued to show there until last season (Spring 2008) wherein they decided to move to New York.

A proponent of deconstruction and reconstruction of garments, the duo would rather call it “recycling,” an idea that goes back when Justin Thornton was a graduate student working for Helen Storey. Their design influence spans not only decades but centuries - from early Briton, to Victorian to punk trash. Hip and edgy, Preen’s target market is from late teens to early 30s.

most of the people i know who work for, wear and like preen are in their late 30's its wierd that they wrote about target audience. imo i think the stuff is better for an older audience, its very flattering for a woman.

the menswear is pretty cool too, its a shame they didnt show any for LINE; actually its a shame they stopped showing it for the mainline.

menswear is still made they chose not to show it on the runway because they feel it breaks up the flow - incase anyone cared :flower:

wow,i really think this is better than what they've been designing in the mainline.

thanks gius!!
