The Calvin Klein Jeans is beyond! (Was the paper stock for the campaign of thicker stock from the standard stock of the magazine?)

Never seen the entire campaign in its full 116pg unleashed glory. Bruce remains the undisputed champion of men’s fashion photography for me. No one understands and captures that fleeting, golden, radiant moment of beauty in men like he did. Then, now, and always.

This campaign is such an interesting component of the Calvin Klein marketing machine timeline. That following year, in A/W 92, it was this unofficial renaissance for the brand; with the beginning of what was to be a phenomenon showcase of the mainline collection throughout the decade; the accompanying campaigns by Fabien; Kate as the face of the brand etc etc. Yet, this campaign and the previous ones for the Obsession line, still hold up so well alongside the brand’s second-coming phenomenon— both in high fashion, and in pop culture. Such a colossal shame what’s happened to the brand overall, both in its fashion downfall, as well as its campaigns. But if there’s one brand that’s able to rise from the ashes and strike golden fire a third time, it’s Calvin Klein.
