Lanvin Kansas and Kentucky bags

I love the original kansas ...why didn't they stick to that style? All the newer styles just don't measure up

I remember seeing this IRL, it's so gorgeous, but my heart was set on getting the leather version at that time.

I have to see where I am in a few days though. I ADORE it but I have to wait and see. I was going to get a Classic flap or this Mulberry I keep going back and forth on but oh this is just so divine...

And black is a classic color...goes with everything...

HI all,
any opinions on the Kentucky in black with brown straps and handles? I just bought it sight unseen at Barneys on sale for $895. I wish it was all black but I am thinking I will like the brown handles.

I was thinking of getting the Prunelle clutch (whcih I saw and LOVE!)but then I was thinking I would not be using it enough because it is small and I carry a lot of stuff. Also I am kinda poor right now so spending $1300 is a little out of my budget.

Also I was looking at the Niger Sac but not sure I like how structured it is.

Can you please let me know if you think I made the right choice? Or should I have gotten my clutch?

I have the Kansas Bag and I love it. I hate buying leather bags that scuff easily. I've had mine for 6 months and there aren't any scratches or water marks from carrying it in the rain (not my decision!).

It's also not as heavy as you'd think. I also love the soft, neutral lining! I was doing a search for shoes earlier and came across an online store that has my bag on sale!! The Niger bag is also on sale.

Question about Lanvin bags in general ... how's the quality? I haven't seen any comments about that here, which I imagine means it's good, but I wanted to ask

I have an original lanvin kansas bag (that my cat pooped on... twice) but I've seen more in person and I dont have any issues with the quality. The leather is all really soft but has held up nicley. The only thing that doesnt look new on my bag is the paint on the edges of the handles. Which one are of thinking of getting?

I haven't had that happen, but one of my dogs (she died in April ) threw up in my bag when we were in the car coming home from the vet. I wish she were here to take another shot at it ... don't tell Michael Kors I said that

I don't think the one I'm looking at has a name, and I haven't seen it online. I suspect it will be this season only ...

based on my original kansas i must say the quality is outstanding! the hardware is just good but the leather is great.

For people who have the 05 kansas, did you spray the leather with some kind of protectant?

being a non-bag person ...would it be better to spray something on it? Does it change the texture of the bag or make the leather harder?

^I haven't sprayed my kansas with any protectant, I just moisturize it occasionally with a leather moisturizer.
It's not really a lot of trouble for me because it's a little hardier, being a black bag.

A lot of people recommend Vectra as a bag protectant....
Maybe you can try spraying a spot of protectant on a discreet corner of your bag to see if it changes the leather texture before taking the plunge?

thanks!..i'm quite scared of doing something to it but i'm not very good of taking care of my stuff so i guess i should. I might try spraying a bit on the inside leather.

justlooking - I definitely sprayed mine with a waterproofing protectant spray prior to use. Mine's identical to Leyla's only brown. The leather has held up well after all this time apart from some rubbing on the edges of the straps.

Does anyone know where I can get a Lanvin Kansas now? I went to Saks (NYC) and they don't carry it anymore...I know I'm late to the game....but am I too late? I don't care anymore for "it" bags. I'm looking to invest in a nice, high quality classic bag that'll last me a long time and doesn't have really ornate label embellishments and the Lanvin Kansas fits all my requirements so I'd really love to be able to track them down again...

I don't know if it's still being made ... if so, I'd try Barney's. If not, I'd try eBay.
