I was trying to compile a list of the current designers that design for a particular label... this is what i have so far:

imho, this is a lost cause. there is just too much stuff outthere.

i love hte idea of this...
but you have so many labels mixed there-
both high end luxury designer and then contemporary sportswear...
i might break it down by market to make it easier...
ie- haute couture...designer ...contemporary ...footwear...etc...
and then perhaps even further by city...

becaus there are just SOOO many that you need to have some sort of plan for organizing them in order to get them all...

I would organize it by designer...I.E.

Karl Lagerfeld - Fendi, Chanel, Chanel HC, Lagerfeld Collection

John Galliano - Dior, Dior HC, John Galliano Homme, John Galliano Femme, Galliano by JG

Jean Paul Gaultier - Hermes, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gaultier Homme, Gaultier Soliel...And a few others I dont know...

The issue is designers like Gaultier have multiple diffusion lines...are we going to count those too?

The criteria of who should be included is tough. What really is "designer" these days?

Oh, and I didn't go through the whole list, but Calvin Klein is designed by Francisco Costa.

well, i just included the designers that i could think of then the ones that were on style.com that i could find... for the Dior Homme, etc. (the separate lines) I just included the separate designers but didnt' specify which ones they did...

Alessandra & John are no longer there, Frida is the Queen of GUCCI now .

by the way you can add TOM FORD 'the brand' by Tom Ford...he'll launch his brand by the end of the year.

-Marc Jacobs: MJ & LV/womenswear; his "design-team"/menswear..
-Givenchy: Ricardo Tisci/womenswear; Ozwald Boateng/menswear..
-V. Westwood: Westwood/womenswear; Andreas Kroenthaler/menswear..
-Issey Miyake: Naoki Takizawa-sp? (although Miyake is still involved in his label, but not quite sure how )

I think its safe to say that almost all Japanese & Belgian designers still design their namesake label..

Why in Sam Hill do I know all this goo?
