Hey guys I'm a junior in highschool and want to go to fashion school but I have heard alot about the people that go there. I heard that FIT is like high school and that alot of people in Chicago are really artsy snobby or weird. I'm a normal highschool kid who likes normal higschool things like partying and chillin but I am ready for college and being an adult but I still want a school that doesn't eat freshmen and spit them out. What are the kids like at the fashion schools yall have been to.

I'm not in fashion school yet but I have visited a lot in california and everyone is just normal. most people are nice and some people aren't just like in every school. don't let other peoples attitudes affect what school you choose, you will meet people you like where ever you go.

elitist snobby artsy b*tches i love it! hahaha
the tutors are pretty harsh but its all constructive i suppose.

but its kind of what i expected from a good fashion school, if you cant cope there how are you gonna cope in industry?

wierd? how do you mean wierd?

rangerrick14 i just noticed your from arkansas, are you from a small town? because if you are im sure you will still be fine. just try to find confidence and you'll do great, if you really want something dont let crazy artsy snobs stop you! and you will be able to teach them a thing or to about being normal

just pay absolutely no attention to attitudes, just do your thing and try to advance in studies..
popularity is not what you enter the industry for

thanx yall:heart: and by wut I mean by weird is not to offend anybody but like the kids I know in art classes those emo kids

Sorry rangerrick. But if your even going to have those attitudes towards people who go to a certain school to begin with, then your not going to do well in any sort of situation. Why bother? You've already labeled them

let people be, just concentrate on your work

don't underestimate how important relationships are...
getting straight A-s doesn't matter so much in a fashion schoool...
building relationships is vital...

check how phoebe philo got her job at chloe...

well, as far as i know the most talented students are usually not particulary 'popular' neither they have the time for too much socialising while at fashion schools, which doesnt stop them from doing great following graduation.. or getting very good with PR when time comes

i just think that people shouldnt get intimidated of not following a career in fashion design just because some kids may be snobish or agressive or racist.. what i say is people whould follow their dream and concentrate on their work not on the 'popularity' issues

If you're looking for a true college experience, FIT isn't the place to go. FIT is a lot like high school... for the people that put absolutely no effort into it.

You get what you put into your school. But like I said.. don't expect the frat/sorority parties or whatever at FIT.
