i dont wear rings too often but i do love beautiful, unusual ones..
even sometimes just to look at...
they are like lovely little works of art...

so i thought we could create a thread to share our favourites..
or even rings we come across that are just weird and wacky..

i love this ring by surface to air..
not sure how practical it would be..but it looks very cool..

the first ring is YSL ( i want it), the last one is Roberto Cavalli ( i think), and the black one in third row is Erickson Beamon. The rest is Rings Eclectic and Lydia Courteille (the really beautiful ones with skulls etc.. too bad they're a few thousand pounds. ouch.)

nice thread idea adorefaith.

its lovely to see the dinosaur designs pieces, i hadn't looked at their work in ages...so thanks for the reminder!

i have a couple additions.
i know these are completely extravagant, but i like the mix of rawness and refinement. i'm scared to know the prices! the amount of carats is crazy!

wow skot those are beautiful :woot:

you are right- its the contrast of raw and refined that is so magnificent..
i love all the jagged edges...they are over the top but not in a trashy way..
that first one is particularly beautiful..

i'd be scared to see prices too!....but one can dream..

thanks for posting..

I'm a sucker for chunky, lucite rings! I hate that they're so big that they can keep you from writing!

adorefaith, I think you're on to something here!

"Knuckle Sandwich on a Baguette" in The New York Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/06/fashion/06POINTS.html?ref=fashion

TIME was, only wiseguys threatened to serve you up a colorful meal: a mitt blintz, a handburger, a filet-o-fist. And back then, women’s jewelry was finely wrought to telegraph femininity. Post-Xena, of course, the rules for jewels changed. Now rings with the structure (and punch) of brass knuckles are giving the old diamond solitaire a poke in the eye.
Of this season’s knuckle-dusters, the most feverishly coveted are assertive without being threatening. Some twine like foliage around two or three fingers and settle seductively on the hand. Some blossom. Others are more insistent: a camellia ring by Chanel is made with circlets of gems; a dome-shape swirl ring from Graff is discreetly aggressive in diamonds (12 carats in all) and gold. All are a gracious vehicle for the woman who wants to be both a lady and a dame.
