I've gone all tingly at the thought of DRESSES and the start of the red carpet season.

R
D-listers. D-listers everywhere. In ugly clothes.
Really, coz I mostly saw the A list. There were some stars that actually looked nice IMO, looking out for the after party pics which are alway smore interesting.

A slideshow via Instagram of some of the looks from last night:

Wow, this was NOT a good night for the red carpet. So many major stars that normally try and deliver on the red carpet weren't there. Even Zandaya and Cate Blanchett, who won their respective Best Actress categories, weren't there. I think my favorite gowns of the night were Letitia Wright in Prada, Claire Danes in Giambattista Valli, and Rihanna in Schiaparelli . I liked Laverne Cox in Galliano. Most of the Gucci looks were decent too (Salma, Julia Garner, Jenna Ortega) but nothing exciting. I hope and pray people really bring it to the Oscars, and that the A-list nominees actually show up.

He looks great. His voice sounds so affected, does he actually talk like that?

^^^ Classic and timeless. I'll take it.

Poor Barry Keoghan looks like that awkward guy who was dressed by his mum for prom— complete with the DIY trouser hemming.

Don’t know who Gabriel Labelle is. But poor guy is photographed with part of his left trouser hem coming undone while the right hem looks too short, like he ran off from the pinning stage at a tailor's. Whoever hemmed his trouser did a sloppy rush job.

Michelle Yeoh’s Armani Prive mess is the ugliest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Sloppy shite stylists.

Laverne in the Galliano was a pleasant surprise! A personal favourite.

Whoever did Glenn Powell's suit made him look so damn short. With the jacket being that long and pants that baggy, it does not work. And Eddie's brown suit... What a strange colour. The men's tailoring across the board was honestly pretty shite.

Does anyone else feel like nearly all of them had some piss poor hair stylists and makeup artists? Could be from the lighting, but a lot of them just look so tired and a bit strung out.

Laverne in the Galliano was a pleasant reference to RuPaul, blond wig and all. Lol.

I thought Letitia Wright had the best gown, but looking closely at it, it doesn’t look like a quality fabric, and the sewing on the slit looks questionable. I’ll gladly blame it on Raf.

In my imagination, Cate couldn’t make it, because she’s saving up to wow us at the Oscars with a number from Haider & JPG.

No one really tore, but Jennifer Coolidge kinda did it for me. That MILF energy in the black sequins was so seductive LOL

Its amazing how a model can always be on the worst dressed list, what was Heidi thinking!

The sloppiness may just be that established stars don’t take TGG nominations seriously— like The People’s Choice Awards, and the Foreign Press Members have become like The Shriners/Freemasons. But because TGG has been such a longstanding fixture of the PR networking system in Hollywood, these stars show up just to appease the “Foreign Press Members" purely out of goodwill and tradition. There’s a hilarious and revealing doc about the founding of TGG and the tradition of it being seen as a joke even amongst the nominees (…although obviously it means the world to newcomers to be invited/nominated/win etc). I thought the doc was a farce, a mockumentary when I first watched— and it sort of is, with the doc’s producers in on the joke that they’re making a doc of TGG, but the protocol that’s documented are all very real. Once you see the doc, you absolutely understand why the Hollywood vets are so sloppy at the event: It’s like this is the 100th wedding rehearsal where all the important participants get drunk just to get through it before the real wedding where they’re all on their best behaviour— The Oscars.

(BTW, @MyNameIs is right: It’s the only event where a Dlister like Billy Porter would ever be invited next to Alisters.)

Same here! Even more so after I started to see flashes of Ursula Andress...

Another highlight for me was seeing Margot Robbie in Chanel. She looked beautiful, loved the chevron detailing and that shade of pink.

Okay I thought Margot Robbie looked good too!! Everyone on twitter was saying how she is dedicated to never serving.

I also didn't understand the negativity on social media regarding Robbie's look either! To me, the Chanel was very classy, sophisticated and chic.
