I know
Just take off the fur from the Prada and you'll get the Galliano!

Latest Dior couture collection was just terrible...a lot of look-a-likes

instantly reminded of...

^^ That is not even similar. What's the same is the color scheme. First of all those coats are totally different, and so are the prints. And Valli has been doing the handpainted flower printed coats/dresses for seasons.

^ I know. It's kind of lazy. It would've been lazy if he had re-made it as well.

doesn't he do that often though? revisit his previous collections and pulls certain pieces from them? i know he's done it before

^ I think he more commonly re-works older pieces and adds something new to them. I can't recall ever seeing him just stick a piece on a runway that was pulled straight from his archives, but I'm not positive that he hasn't.

Yeah, he has used older pieces from the archives in current shows. For FW02, he had models, wearing that season's clothes, come out and add on additional garments from the 80's, displayed on overhead hangers. But that was just a styling move, just to show how relevant those older pieces still looked. In this couture collection, it looks like all he did was just remove the feather trim and added a different gown. Lazy, yeah.

Good eye, noonfashion.

Marchesa ripping off Valentino. There's something we haven't seen before... :innocent:

I mean, I think most have done that Silhouette. Dior is a fan, Dolce and Gabbana has done it as well....And the Valentino is much more streamlined and simplified......so dont see too many connections in those two.
