Are the people in the industry superficial?

Love for the job erases any social problems i think. if you truely have a passion for your job you can pick out the phonies and the superficial ones right away and simply dismiss them or learn to work with them while staying sane. The possibility of creating something new and exciting blinds out everything else.

If you dont truely love it, yes the fashion world is extremely superficial and if you don't have a strong standpoint its easy to be crushed or thrown into some dumb phony group that isn't truly who you stand for or have someone influence you negatively.

So it's just a matter of what type of person you are, that depends on how you see the industry.

What exactly does the OP mean as far as superficiality?

same thing I am wondering. If I act nice to someone I am probably being superficial/fake. I am naturally pretty outright mean and like to get that out the way first.
