love the show!
did somebody find any aftershow/party pictures?

I know this is nothing new, but the video neglected several looks, Vlada´s dress doesn´t even appear in one shoot, Romina and Doutzen got a few seconds and it is imposible to get a picture of their dresses, María Carla, Lekeline and Bruna were shown mostly standing or seating and the worst part of it is all the time they gave to Gisele and her acqward poses that little got to the with the directions written on the queue card.

Stella on the other hand did it flawlessly well, I loved her face expressions and her moment of complicity at the end with John, when she blow´s him a kiss and he tells her I love you.

I hope this isn´t the definitive version of the video.

I dont know...I got really excited for this...but I feel I've seen it all before...and the theme was amazing, (the painters) so I feel he could have done so much more with it

^ My feelings exactly.

It should have been more creative than it was.

So glad I'm not the only one with far higher expectations...^_^

I do see your point, but I find that the original Art makes us dream more, not so much Dior HC, and that's the problem - it could have been more than crude replicas of costumes with this "theme", it could have been true Haute Couture. I'd rather see fewer but more inspiring dresses, and the buzz/talk about the astonishing new work and innovative design ideas in haute couture rather than about supermodels, which model is which character in the famous paintings or the drama of Versailles, a pretty tawdry palace, btw.:innocent:

Although it is true that art was more representative before the Impressionists, the art pieces that achieved greatness are more subversive with very interesting methods and decisions by the artists - eg. David, the ultimate classicist, was really a "propaganda" artist pioneering image techniques still used today (I'll elaborate more if you're interested but off-topic here...), Vermeer's genius was in his study and understanding of light and how it affects colors, textures, sheen, etc. That's real dreaming and revelry, I find. Each a genius in his own world such that a whole HC collection could have been based on each one of their methods, if a fashion designer really plumbs the depths rather than giving a superficial interpretation. In the end, it's so much $$$$ and talent all for so very little in terms of furthering fashion, an art in its own right, and isn't Haute Couture all about this art in its highest form?

I've given up on Galliano for a few seasons now, hoping in vain he'll go for substance rather than hype, but again, I'm disappointed.

As Dior is a BIG advertiser, you won't find any fashion journalist risking their necks to critically assess the designs, but at least as one of the proletariat, I can, heheh!!

I think one more model that should be at the show is Carolyn Murphy. She is very artistic as well.

As of the songs played at the show;-) just know two on them but can title only one;-) Madonna ''Isaac'' from ''Confessions on a Dance Floor'' and the second song is very famous House Anthem... but can not remember name of the band...

Zazie

^ I don't think that's the only reason it isn't being critiscized because, themes aside, they are beautifully executed garments if nothing else. The couture technique is there in all it's glory, so to that end he did his job as couturier very well.

I just feel like, if people are going to rail on Galliano for pillaging art history then doesn't Saint Laurent deserve the same treatment for beading Van Gogh's irises onto a bodice or using Picasso-esque appliques on a cape.
