Edie Sedgwick #3

It's hard to believe that - had Edie lived this long - she'd be 71 in a few days. No doubt a shockingly stylish 71 year old.

I've always wondered about the footage from a television show she did near the end of her life. I'd love to see it but I've searched high and low and have never seen anything of the sort (the program is mentioned in the biography).

I believe the episode is still intact - somewhere. According to Lance Loud, there was more footage of her, which all negatives were destroyed. I heard that the Loud family had donated copied reels to UCLA, when I contacted UCLA, that told me that was not true.

^ Too bad it seems to be inaccessible. I know so many of us would love to see it!

I thought that after that HBO movie about An American Family came out they would put the original series on dvd but they never did. They do have a dvd with a couple hours of footage but it didn't have Edie on it.

I was able to download the entire series through a torrent, and no where in it did they show her. I feel like she was never actually featured in the show but might have only been the footage cut out. However, it's a great series and if any of you guys can get your hands on it, it is definitely worth a watch.

If any of you guys know a way to send video files, I would be more then happy to send all the episodes to you!

"Superartist" (documentary, b&w/color, 1967) Filmmaker and Warhol friend Juan Drago follows a surprisingly relaxed and open Andy, at the peak of his powers in late 1966, around his bustling original "Factory" in midtown Manhattan. Andy experiments with an early Norelco slant-track videotape machine, recording a beautiful, laughing Edie Sedgwick -- his "superstar" of the moment -- for the video portion of "Outer and Inner Space" (recently restored and revived by Callie Angell of the Whitney Museum in New York), Warhol's filmed record of the "live" Sedgwick juxtaposed against her video image on an adjacent monitor.. (Warhol: "Hurry up. We have two more movies to make tonight.")

Note: It is not Edie, but International Velvet who says the "bust my chops" line.

I don't think that's her in the first one. Edie was totally flat chested. It's probably Sienna Miller.

I would guess it is a third unknown girl. It doesn't look like Siennas legs.

Hi everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates. I found these to be rather interesting. These were instagrammed at the LA Art Show 2015.

When I first glanced at this photo I noticed her lipstick (which could be a test shoot for a lipstick ad?) - She looks so much like Marilyn Monroe. The photographs are so clean, crisp and vibrant. Because of the style of the photographs, I naturally assumed the photographer was Bert Stern. It took me a while to find out the name of the photographer, but I just received confirmation that Bert Stern is indeed the photographer.

In the photographs she is wearing a blue top with an orange scarf on her head, her hair is a bit long, so my assumption is that these were taken in 1966.

By now, we all should know the horror story that Edie told for the Ciao! Manhattan tapes, and there have been rumors that Bert Stern is the culprit of that story, although there is no proof. However, on a personal note, these photographs are very sinister to me...

According to a few news articles, in 1967, Bert Stern orchestrated the New York arrival of Twiggy - Edie attended the welcoming party.

definitely a marilyn resemblance.

can you remind me briefly of the horror story from the bio/tapes? :flower:

A lady from tumblr had posted these. I tried to ask about the source of the images, she claims they are from Instagram under a hashtag that pertains to Edie (ie, #ediesedgwick, #sedgwick, etc); but she also says the video is from a museum, possibly the Andy Warhol Museum. She is not too certain and didn't offer much help.

I searched Instagram all weekend and I cannot find this video on Instagram.

If this is in fact from the Warhol Musuem, it could be from Face, but I haven't watched Face yet. Face was being exhibited, along with other Warhol films, at the Mario Testino museum, MATE.

Because the images aren't clear, I personally don't think the hair in these images match her hair in Face. I just do not know - Like I said, I haven't watched Face yet.

Any ideas?
