Carine must stop with these gifs. I've seen better work from 13 year olds on tumblr.
I am however excited/unsurprised that Lara will be featured.
I guess it would to obvious to giver her the cover, but one can hope

yeah, somebody needs to tell them how to make a proper gif!:lol:
at least it's better than the one with the "flowing" purple fabric..

well let's not forget, there is that CN memo instructing talent whose side they need to be on if they are to survive in this industry. As previously mentioned, she's working with limited resources.

btw, the picture with a baby is signed Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Lara`s by Faena

Can't wait to see the documentary about the creation of the magazine.
I wish the first issue will be killer and sells well because that Conde Nast embargo is freaking stupid. As for the contents they look quite good actually, considering the tight budget.

Carine Roitfeld’s Debut CR Issue Will Be Birth-Themed

It's only fitting that the first issue of Carine Roitfeld's new magazine, CR Fashion Book, will be focused on birth and babies. It's a metaphorical statement — this new publication is her brainchild — as well as a literal one, as she became a grandmother for the first time in May. Indeed, a photograph of Carine's pregnant daughter Julia provides the background to the editor's letter on CR's new website, which officially launched today.

Her editor's letter states:

When I learned that my daughter, Julia, was expecting, I immediately began seeing babies and new mothers on planes, at fashion shows, in New York and in Paris. Birth and rebirth all around. I became obsessed. At the same time, I was thinking and dreaming about the first issue of this magazine, which you are reading now. This issue takes rebirth as its theme and is filled with both images and ideas about birth, pregnancy, and family. The promise of youth, the force of age, and the rush of all things new. It’s an escape, a fashion fairy tale. It’s a dream of a better life—because fashion is meant to make us dream.

Yes, babies and pregnant ladies! Because fashion can never get enough of those. But this day also heralds yet another beginning: Carine making friends with the Internet! For CR to have a strong online presence signals the dawning of a great new day indeed.

i should take out of my closet this coat in the mid picture)

I do love the shot of Marie Piovesan and the pram. But as much as I adore Carine and her vision, I'm not enthusiastic about CR Fashion Book. The themes are mundane and unoriginal. Carine done the whole baby thing in Vogue Paris for the April 2009 issue. I doubt Fashion Book will be around in 7-10 years time. I'd much rather Carine contribute towards other magazines, therefore we still see her creative aesthetic. Nonetheless, I do wish Roitfeld all the best.

^I agree. And I was expecting much more from Carine'. So far, there's really not anything aspiring here. Beautiful pictures, but nothing creative or visionary. For a premiere issue, I'm no longer excited about getting this.
