Magazine Cover Stars : Guesses & Wishes 2016

Now that Cover Rumor Thread is being filled with guesses that will be lost in some months and that are doing nothing in a discussion for 'credible' rumors, I've decided to create a thread (inspired by ThatGuyPaul and RanThe) to guess the cover subjects ( photographers, stylists and clothes if we want) for all the 2016 magazines. We can add another list for wishes, people we think diserve the cover and that sort of things. At the end of the year each poster could quote his/her list and color the correct guesses in green.

Then we can create a list for wishes: Raquel; Claudia Schiffer, Lara Stone and Anna Ewers sharing a cover or whatever...

I would also like something by Peter Beard... A whole issue or just an ordinary one. With some great models in Africa doing what he knows to do.

Also a little bit of Bruce Weber... Raquel and Freja are perfect for him. Maybe Anna Ewers too. Something very candid and fresh. Or the new generation headed by Rianne shot by Bruce, in a very pale black and white ed...

Or some old cover subjetcs (VP legends) by the beyond fresh and talented lens of the master Jamie Hawkesworth. It would be interesting.

Isn't it crrrrrazy that the biggest photographer of our times (aka Steven Meisel) didn't shoot a VP cover in his life? To me it sounds crazy and I would give him the cover for the sake of it.

A Nicolas Ghesquière December issue would make me buy VP again.

Yes!! I think it's highly possible considering how much VP loves LV! At least they could put it to good use

or maybe they could DEDICATE their Dec/Jan issues to the model they NOW love. It's like their grand introduction before using them month after month. Or it could be the other way around, like a model dedicated issue to the model they used 98% of the time of that same year.

BTW, don't you think nowadays magazines don't reflect the models of the moment? In the 90's it was clear, the girls who were a hit on the catwalk were a hit on magazine covers (Claudia, Linda, Naomi...), in the early 00's too, also in the mid and the late naughties... But right now new models don't get covers anymore (with very few exceptions). These days cover choices are not a reflection of what's happening in the model industry anymore... There is no clear generation fronting magazine covers anymore. I find it a little bit weird, but maybe it's just me.

Just an example: Vogue Japan used to be very 'of the moment' and this year there was just one cover with models of the moment. The rest were old glories. Or Vogue UK... Appart from Anna, there were no new models. Vogue Paris used to embrace new models too but right now it's just Anna Ewers.

In fact, you have a glipmse at the first page of this subforum and the newest model fronting a magazine cover is Sasha Luss. I find it sort of strange. Like if there was no illusion for the times we are living.

It's been a while since that last amazing one, shot by Tim Walker, in 2004.
This time I'd like to see her recreate the magic with Peter Lindbergh.
