UK Vogue December 2020 : Beyoncé by Kennedi Carter

How beautiful were Alexandra's December covers, sienna Miller sparkling in the middle of a silver star, Kate Moss in red with crown and scepter, Elton John playing the Piano with Liz hurley, Emma Watson among golden stars ..... the number on the fantasy with Kate Moss as the sleeping beauty, those were glorious times of Vogue, this of Today is just RUBBISH

I love the Mugler cover, it’s so sultry and just what I want from a December cover. Who cares if it’s cheap, it’s Beyoncé!

The Adidas one though.. jesus.

And this is what they were hyping as her best shoot yet?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

And they said it's full on high fashion too... we've been bamboozled and a half

Edward, you’re out of pocket for this one.

The first cover is intriguing...I like it. Although the 'Partition' esque pose with Prince Charles' name directly to the right of it is too funny . My first thought however was whether Kennedi Carter is related to Shawn Carter in any way :innocent:

The other two covers should've never seen the light of day - any untrained eye can see that the composition of those shots are unforgivable. I doubt I would even let them run in an editorial.

Her Testino cover of US Vogue is still dope compared to anything else she has done. As others have said, she needs to relinquish control of her image a little bit, particularly at this stage where she's carved out such a niche for herself. It's kind of ridiculous that an artist of her level and with the kind of music videos she has had lacks the ability to create strong print imagery.

I can tolerate the first cover. Set design and styling looks great, very high-class table dancer, but not the art direction and composition. The other two covers are simply terrible. And all three look nothing like British Vogue.
I know it had to be a black photographer, but why couldn't they reward an already active photographer with this cover?

that Ivy Park sure was taken from Sports Illustrated, nothing to bring X-mas/December mood, and Beyonce is so overrated, she's not doing well in charts anymore also
THIS IS NOT VOGUE, Vogue italia, USA and UK,need a real transformer, and yes i miss all the great photographers they used to hire, not some crap Instagram or friends of the celebrities...i'm mad, another whole year with so many crap editorials and covers and small piece of beauty to find!
sorry about that guys.

Can't wait for the 20 page fashion extravaganza. I hope they went more daring less the hair on the McQueen cover. Hoping for a Black is King/ Lemonade style fashion feast with different talented photographers. I actually wish they had three different people shoot the cover.

these were like 10 years ago (some almost 20), since then it was what? meh.
Although these Beyonce covers are also meh for me. Now those Meisel portraits of Adut and Saffron were amazing and festive!

On a personal level I find these covers tawdry - and I’m being kind. I just don’t get the constant elevation of American pop stars - Taylor Swift; Ariana Grande; Madonna; Lizzo; Rhianna & now Beyoncé - it’s so disappointing. British culture has so much to offer & I'm sure there are plenty of singers that would be amazing Vogue cover stars but who would now any?
Finally who does the cover really appeal to? The lighting is too dark; the pose is tacky & the clothes / styling are low rent. Checkout chick chic
It’s another fail from EE - IMHO.

Whose idea is it that neon pink suits for Kennedy's gloomy photography? That's a no-no.

I don't like the first and the second covers, but the third one is pretty decent minus the word BEYONCE that devours the whole image just like last month's cover with Serena.

I actually like the first cover. It exudes a vibe that could be a spiritual sequel to the Naughty Girl MV. However, the other two images demonstrate the photographer’s amateurish ability. If Beyonce wanted to hire lesser known black talents to be the creative forces behind her magazine appearances, then why didn’t she assign the same crew from the Black Is King or Lemonade film? Heck any screen caps that show her face from those two films could’ve made a better cover than the work offered here.

I was really really hoping to see Kylie, so I was slightly disappointed to read the topic title, but still great covers. I am quite shocked to see the amount of negative comments, especially the misogynistic ones. I can understand if B isn't your cup of tea, but some of the comments in here are downright rude and there is no need for this!

she's not doing well in charts anymore also

Lol, what? Like her or not but she is one of the biggest female pop stars in the world and has been in that position since 2000, so this makes no sense at all.

Rihanna is not even American...

I’m obsessed with the first cover, I’m hoping my local market will sell that version cause I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. The mood, the colors, the pose, the only time I’ve seen Casey’s Mugler look remotely interesting- I’m sold by it all. The other two covers aren’t terrible, but are not nearly as exciting to me.

The first cover is ok, but the others are very unnecesary to publish on the December issue & her pose doesn't can help to be an beautiful pictures.

I through was than Kylie Minogue been on this cover.

… sorry my bad I didn’t realise The Caribbean wasn’t from The Americas … potatoes/potatoes : tomatoes/tomatoes.

Mosdef UK Vogue is morphing into a magazine that is wrought with mediocrity

I don’t mind at all Beyonce on magazine covers because I feel that she’s never overexposed.
she is indeed an amazing artist even if sometimes I feel that she might take the ‘Diva’ word a little bit too serious... but I do like her and her work.

covers wise the pose and face of the second one are the strongest ones for me but unfortunately it’s the cover she’s using that Ivy Park X Adidas collab. the colour, the bucket hat... I mean, on the cover of Vogue? just no.

the first cover is ok, I find the leg up a bit weird and even more for the cover of British Vogue and the hair could be better too.

the McQueen cover is the weakest for me, pose and face don’t really work.

happy to read Lara Stone’s name - I need her to come back but the problem with Fashion these days is that everything is so drab that we’ll probably see her in one of those insipid editorials... *sigh*
