Celebrity Houses #2

I love Poppy's house, but would want to change some things if I lived there. Julianne's house, however, is sheer perfection. The only thing I would change is the photograph in the master bath.

Jeremy Iron's fascinating castle. Vanity Fair's October 2017 issue featured some of these photos and an article on its restoration.

What's with the recurring cicular lampshades in each of Jullianne Moore's house? Very odd. I also get the feeling the interior decorator tried too hard. Looks very cluttered, not quirky. Compare that to Ricky Martin's house where they tried too little to give it some character. Literally looks like your average luxury coastline house up for rent on Airbnb.

I do like Poppys place, would also change a few bits here and there, and that pink room absolutely must go, but I like the main living areas.

Love Irons castle, but I think if I were to buy a castle, I would not get one with seemingly so many floors. All those stairs :S

Irons castle is a dream. Love the fireplace, the earthy tones, the brocades and the various wood shades.

I really loathe looking through magazines in which people's home are the interior equivalent of fashion victims with trendy artwork and decor themes, which gives instantly dates and devalues the home for me.
Kelly Wearstler's predictably cliched Memphis influenced design themes in December of 2017 prime example.

Although the concept itself is a cliche, I really value authenticity in home decor and design. Just as with fashion the real thing just looks and feels better. The energy is different.

I remember seeing Mary Steenburgen's home in InStyle many years ago and seeing those interiors felt like an intimate, cozy reflection of Mary and Ted Danson's partnership.

Jeremy Iron's home is a beautiful labor of love. I love anything touched by Louboutin, he has exquisite in interiors.

Poppy's choice of Martinique wallpaper, what a revelation...

^ I don't like the tiles in the stove room, but otherwise I find Amanda Seyfried's house incredibly beautiful!

What's with these pretentious little sculptures on the tables all of these American apartments are full of? I mean the "earthy" looking stones and stuff, such as at Alexander Wangs place? I don't get it, and they look cheap and not personal at all. I would understand if they were actual souvenirs from some exotic resort the habitant went to and brought it back home, but I doubt this is the case as all of these apartments seem to have them.

Edit: What also bothers me is that especially top designers, who should be on top of visual stuff and highly original, seem to have very generic "interior designer" apartments. I mean, just look at Marc Jacobs' place. It doesn't look like it belongs to him at all. I don't see any traces of the world he communicates through his collections. All I see is a posh Park Avenue lady. Also, I saw pics of Francisco Costas place, and I was super disappointed in that too. Considering how sophisticated and interesting and artistic some of his work for CK was, his place didn't show any of that sensibility.

Most all the houses look staged. Who really has a tray of peaches on their dining room table or cut cabbage decorating their kitchen counter? I mean, really?

According to an older Daily Mail article this is the house that Meghan Markle used to live in while filming "Suits" in Toronto. Reportedly rented by the show, Meghan lived there for years. Now on sale for £810,000 (maybe someone has purchased it by now, article is from Dec. 2017).
