Trends We Love...

Lately I've been seeing the Vivienne Westwood pearl necklace with the saturn in the middle ON EVERYONE. It's really pretty but now that it's SO popular, I don't know if I love it or if I...shyly love it. LOL.

I have been looking a it too!!! And I gotta be honest, I am sooo happy to se Vivienne Westwood coming back to mainstream popularity. I know I know, everyone will now use it, I don't care! I have been missing her in the mainstream spotlight for a few decades now and I think is awesome she is back.

So things I have spot lately: late 90s and early 2000s comebacks and I LOVE THEM!
For the early 2000s the one I am noticing more are the tiny blouses which only button in the breast area but are open for the rest of the torso, wonderful to see those coming back and I miss my 16 yr old body damn it!

miniskirts! It was high time to throw that "we are emPOWERED by dressing according to hyperconservative religious fundamentalist rules" mentality in the bin, and I miss the optimism and fun of a minidress/miniskirt, just getting to have my legs out feels so good!

also a hair thing I'm starting to notice...it's a bit early to call this a trend yet but....fringes (bangs in American), the really thick slightly 60s-looking kind that Irina Lazareanu used to work in the late 00s.

It's not yet taken off as a trend yet, but shorter/shrunken blazers, I liked the ones on the Miu Miu A/W 2022 runway. After ages of cartoonishly huge oversized blazers, it's time for a pullback.

I see a lot of bows and sheer fabrics a huge pull onto the color red too

See-through fabrics, whether that's lace or tulle/organza, or just regular super sheer fabric. Especially when paired/contrasted with heavier fabrics to make it wearable. I wore a sheer slip with a cardigan to go out the other night, loved it.

The return of 'proper shoes' - not sneakers and not insane high heels, just slightly demure, conservative shoes that provide a good finishing touch to your outfit without shocking your grandmother (loafers, ballet flats, low block heels).

Hosiery. I prefer the opaque kind but I welcome all kinds of tights and holdups into my life, it was such a great part of later 00s fashion.

Colourful beaded jewellery because it’s very Christian Dior Spring 2005 vibes.
Gold hoops and gold jewellery in general
midi skirts and midi dresses
Logomania
And even though these where a bigger trend in the 2010s: Big handbags and clutches

Does anybody know? I like the early 2000s era of fashion, like the streetwear and brands (Ed Hardy, Hollister, Erc). I see tons of inspo from women but almost none for men, maybe you guys could help?

red, as an accent colour it's a classic and I welcome it being the colour of the moment.

also this azure/cobalt blue that was all over NYFW S/S 2024, lovely colour and I think bright blues are quite wearable.

I'm *so* happy to see square toes aren't going anywhere since Phoebe Philo threw in some square toed pumps in her debut collection ▣▣▣

I'm really happy about this as well...have always had a hard time finding good shades of red and it's sooooo convenient that there are currently so many optioins and variations...

red is classic and timeless so i'm taking advantage of this "trend" to add some "evergreen" pieces to my wardrobe...

i don't know what you think of Isabelle Marant, but for me it has gone nowhere these last years.
There are many products discounted every where.

metallics, I'd favour a bronze ahead of silver which is the metal of the moment but I do like them they take the place of most neutrals for me.

Speaking of Helmut Lang…

I miss strategically-placed holes & slits in your couture. A hole here for the thumb, a slit there for the elbow, a slit in the back where the collar meets the body. I bought a lot of shirts with this feature back in the day, and I THINK that was a Helmut thing, but don’t quote me on that.

I love cut-outs so much. I have so many Helmut rip off pieces, it's not funny. And I still want more lol
